If that princess would have just kissed that frog in the beginning, she would have saved herself a world of trouble.
In that wonderful fairy tale, "The Frog Prince" we have a young princess trying diligently to get away from the nasty, ugly frog. The irony being that in the end, when she finally bestows a kiss, true love and happiness comes her way.
In life there are things that we try diligently to forget or run away from. Hurt, pain, loss, and abuse are difficult things to face. For over 15 years we have been using storytelling with youth and adults to gently dig into those dark places and bring hope, healing, and health.
Stories have a way of making it a little easier to swallow truth or face an issue. They also have the amazing ability to transport us away from the place we are in, without ever leaving our seat. Just like that frog who was transformed when kissed, stories have the power to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.
